You can hear, but do you listen?

"In Washington DC , at a Metro Station, on a cold January morning in 2007, a man with a violin played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time, approximately 2000 people went through the station, most of them on their way to work.

Time to scrap the Joint Madrasah System?

SINGAPORE: Of the six full-time madrasahs, four have met the PSLE benchmark this year set by the Ministry of Education.

PLEASE tell me again  how the Joint Madrasah System (JMS) is helping the madrasah succeed in the PSLE exams? Three of the non-JMS madrasahs met the MOE's benchmark, at least one of them consistently thru the years.

How Many Closet Racists Still Remain in PAP, YPAP?

Young PAP member quits over offensive remarks on Facebook - Channel NewsAsia

A Young People's Action Party (YP) member who posted 'insensitive' remarks - in his own words - on his Facebook page has resigned, following an online furore.
  http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/1166078/1/.html
Veteran PAP Member of Parliament Charles Chong told TODAY that it would be "difficult" to vet those joining YP or PAP.

"They may profess to have the same ideology as the party and have a clean record, but even with psychometric tests, there is a small possibility of mistakes or missteps," said Mr Chong.

 My response:
The YPAP, like the PAP itelf, prides itself in its stringent recruitment criteria to catch the 'best of the crop'. What those criteria are are a closely guarded secret and we must take their word that they are stringent indeed.

Saya percaya, tiada siapa mempertikaikannya.

Track Record MP-MP Melayu (2006-2011)

Catatan berikut dari Nota akaun Facebook saya:

Assalamu'aikum kawan-kawan semua

Sejak beberapa hari ini, saya sering ditanya tentang isu-isu Melayu. Ada pula menanyakan bila saya nak keluarkan record book MP-MP Melayu. Heh heh... sebenarnya saya cuma katakan saya rasa tercabar nak keluarkan record book sebegitu, bukan betul2 nak buat.

TO YOU-KNOW WHO

Assalmau'alaikum wm wbh

Telah sampai kekuping saya kata-kata kononnya dari seorang bekas kawan lama: "Why is rahmansaid against me?"

Securing our Future

For the past few weeks, even before Parliament got dissolved, I’ve been hearing a lot of talk from people telling me that this coming elections is about choosing our fourth-generation leaders. I hear people telling me this election is about securing our future.

Adieu, Abdullah Tarmugi

Speaker of Parliament Abdullah Tarmugi is finally hanging up his boots after almost 30 years in politics, one-third of those years as Minister for Muslim Affairs.

It remains to be seen if the talk of the town that he will be our next elected President will come to pass.

Now, here is a man worthy of respect, and he has especially earned mine.
